Assisted Reproductive Technology, or ART, refers to fertility techniques that involve handling sperm, eggs or embryos outside the human body to help achieve pregnancy.
Under India's Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulation Act, ART includes techniques in which sperm or eggs are handled outside the body and a gamete or embryo is transferred into the female reproductive system.
